Degree in the Desert

The Southern Nevada Master's and Warden's Association (632 East Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas NV 89104) sponsors an open air Third  Degree, which is typically held on the last Sunday of September. This degree takes place in a desert box canyon, rich in petroglyphs, which makes for interesting exploring during the lunch break.
An interesting bit of history - at this same outdoor degree, in 1974, WB Ralph R. Reed, Master of Vegas Lodge #32, raised Brother Kent Hokanson to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. 25 years later, at the same time, day and location, Worshipful Brother Kent Hokanson, sitting as Master of Vegas Lodge #32, raised Brother Carl Johnson to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. I guess history really does "repeat itself"!
