Welcome
to
The Nevada Grand Lodge Library!
This page will grow as time goes on, so please visit often!
Library contents include:
Our "showpiece" is now available ... "History of Masonry in Nevada", by C.W. Torrence!
Torrence's "History ..." is a very well-done volume - going into detail about the area and how it developed, bringing the development of Freemasonry into the area as he goes.
We encourage you to read Torrance - it's a well-done history!
If you are interested in your own personal copy of Torrence's "History ...", contact the WebMason - he occasionally has a line on a copy or two.
Back in 1914, then-Grand Orator Lloyd B. Thomas wrote a little pamphlet, entitled "Fifty Years of Masonry in Nevada", which he apparently self-published.
Your Grand WebMason has obtained a copy of this fascinating booklet, and has it available for reading here in the Grand Lodge Library.
"The Masons on the Mountains" - a fascinating story, from the pages of the "Territorial Enterprise" (the Virginia City newspaper that once was home to "Mark Twain"), detailing a Lodge Meeting held by the brethren of Escurial Lodge #7, after their Lodge was destroyed in a fire - for the second time!
The Oration given by the then-Grand Orator, now Past Grand Master David J. Guinan (1999), at the placing of the cornerstone of Escurial Lodge #7, Virginia City, on May 21, 1988, containing much history of that Lodge and of this building, is also part of our "Grand Lodge Library".
Items available from the Grand Lodge include the "Nevada Masonic Traveler's Guide" and the "Masonic Passport" - sales of both benefit the Grand Lodge Endowment Fund.
If YOU have any suggestions for additions to this portion of the Nevada Grand Lodge website, contact the WebMason!
