The name "Virginia City", or as it was sometimes called, just plain "Virginia" brings to mind much rich history - some of it true, some of it less than true. Some of the more fanciful history was contained in the writings of Samuel Clemens (or "Mark Twain"), who hung his shingle outside the newspaper offices of this fair town many years ago.
For some fascinating reading about some of the Masonic History of this area, visit "Masons on the Mountains" - the story of the Masons of the area who, after their Lodge was lost to a fire, decided that nothing would keep them from meeting - on the top of a seven thousand foot high mountain peak!

This building was built in 1988, but looks as if it has been here forever! The pillars on the "porch" of Escurial Lodge #7 stand about 14' high, and the ceiling had to be specified at this height to accomodate them! The alter at Escurial Lodge #7 is a beauty to behold! is also a work of art, as is virtually all of this
beautiful building!The Senior Warden also sits in splendor in this lodge - but not in quite as much splendor as the Master of the Lodge! No shortage of room for the Tyler to do his work here!
