A Cornerstone for Elko

The Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons of Nevada, recently placed a cornerstone for the new Regional Airport Terminal Building in Elko, Nevada ... that story is here.

   Two Automated Re-mailers
for NV Masons!

As a service of your Grand Lodge Website and Grand WebMason, we now have two "automated remailers" (or "e-mail reflectors") available to Nevada Masons - this service will send your e-mail to all Nevada Masons who have signed up for this service, after review by the WebMason.

You can request membership in either or both groups HERE.

Boulder City Stair Lift

Boulder City Lodge No. 37 recently installed a motorized stair lift, running from their basement dining room up to their Lodge room. This was a major part of their building improvement program spearheaded by WB Bobby Verser during his term of office.

Chuck Spriestersbach, Past Master of Boulder City No. 37, rides the stair lift two flights of stairs from the dining room (left) to the Lodge room (right).

A group of visiting members of the Order of the Eastern Star tries out the stair lift, and gives their enthusiastic approval.

New Lodge meets in
Airplane Hangar!

On December 22, 2001, Nevada chartered and consecrated a new Lodge, Sandy Valley Lodge number 57.

For those who aren't familiar with Nevada geography, Sandy Valley is about 45 miles southwest of Las Vegas, west of the town of Jean on I-15, and south of the town of Pahrump. Sandy Valley is a growing new community of about 3500 residents, and one of the major features of the town is its landing strip.

One of the members of the Lodge lives at the side of that landing strip, and has made his airplane hangar available for Lodge meetings, which are held on the first Saturday of each month at 9:00 AM.

We have pictures available of the outside building and of the interior in its configuration as a Masonic Lodge room. How many other jurisdictions can say that they have a Lodge that meets in an airplane hangar, as does Sandy Valley #57, or in a Casino, as does Laughlin #56? ... As they say, "Only in Nevada ..."!
